National Blues Museum in St. Louis, MO $3 Military Discount

Image
The National Blues Museum is located in downtown St. Louis, MO sitting between Sugarfire BBQ and Gringo Tacos and Burgers . Slideshow From My Visit My Personal Experience: Coming across this gem of a museum was a bit of a circumstantial occurrence as had it not been for me staying in downtown STL and not having a car I am certain I would not have come across this museum at all. Not saying its a hard to miss establishment, the National Blues Museum definitely stands out from its surroundings. I just had so much to see on this trip that could I have ventured out further than my surroundings I would not have wondered around in the downtown area so much. With that said, there was a bit of a change of plans and since I walked pass the museum plenty of times I wondered aloud about stopping in and checking it out. Upon entering my friend and I were warmly greeted and I asked if they offered a military discount . They did offer a m ilitary discount and it redu

The Gateway Arch in St. Louis, MO

Image
In March 2019 I used my National Parks Pass ( Free for military ) to go visit the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, MO . While it did not grant me free access to the Arch itself. I did get a discount paying only $11 (no taxes added) per person. I only paid to do the, " Tram Ride to the Top " of the Arch . The museum is free, so I took advantage of that portion of the experience and at the time it was a bit cold so I did not want to do a Riverfront Cruise . For the longest time I had no idea you could go to the top of the STL Arch . I have driven through STL and always thought this was just a large art piece. Actually seeing the entrance and going inside is amazing. You would never guess what all the Gateway Arch has to offer. My mind was basically blown. The museum is huge and quite detailed with some cool interactive components. The journey to go to the top of the arch is one like you'll never see anywhere else. If you follow my blog you know I went

Budweiser Brewery 10% Store Discount

Image
While on leave in St. Louis, MO I made a trip to the Anheuser-Busch Brewery , the home to Budweiser and a large family of many other beers you might be surprised by. While the brewery has a free tour( info ), I am not the average penny-pincher, I heard of their $10 Day Fresh tour that comes with 3 beer samples plus a free fresh beer canned that day and I knew that was the tour for me. Enjoy part of my tour experience below: My Personal Experience: At the ticket counter I asked if they offered a military discount and at that point it was mentioned that despite not offering one for the tour they did however offer a 10% discount in the gift shop . I was then given one of the Budweiser challenge coins , they have two distinct coins that go for $9.95 in the gift shop . The tour itself took about 90 minutes to complete. The tour took a route that started with the famous Clydesdale's and their stables, then forged on to different buildings that put you in the mid

Fishing/Hunting License Military Discount

Image
In my research I found, 34 states offer discounted hunting or fishing licenses fees to active duty military and/or veteran residents(found here ). My experience was here in Colorado where I paid $9 for a $12 one day license at Walmart and would have received a few dollars off on a $33 year long license. Some states also offer free licenses to 50% or higher disabled vets. As I always recommend, ask either before or when you are at the point-of-sale. I hope many people with these hobbies already know of this offering, but if they do not I am glad to be a part of growing the awareness and helping military personnel past and present save a little more money. Here are links to more info on offerings from Colorado : Click HERE and Texas : Click HERE I have never experienced the thrill of a hunt but I have clocked many peaceful hours hoping to get a tug on my line and reel in the biggest catch of the day. Most of that had come from conventional fishing when I was mu

5 Star Nutrition 25% Off Discount (In-Store)

Interview with Former General Manager Joshua Nelson My Personal Experience : I did not become a serious supplement user until I joined the military in 2015. My knowledge was non-existent beyond protein and until 2017 I had not tried much else to compliment my protein usage and diet meal plans. All that changed after 5 Star Nutrition came to Buckley AFB . I had a few friends recommend them to me and I saw their effective social media posts, which to me, showed how much they actually cared about their customers. I literally walked into the store my first time, looked around a second, then proclaimed loudly, "I'm looking to bulk up and have no idea where to start!"(or something similar to that, lol!) The workers at 5 Star Nutrition take personal interest in you and listen to your goals and suggest things targeted to those goals. I have never felt pressured to buy a product or dissatisfied with suggested products. I also love the In-body machine because

Free TSA Pre-Check

TSA Pre Check FAQs For Active Duty Military and DoD Civilians: Click HERE ! Apply For TSA Pre Check: https://www.tsa.gov/precheck My Personal Experience : This is a major discovery for Military ID holders. I have used TSA Pre Check since I joined the US Air Force in 2015. My mother worked at American Airlines and helped me verify that the Benefits number on the back of my CAC card allowed me to receive TSA Pre Check benefits. According to the official TSA Pre Check site Active duty military and Civilian DOD ID holders can receive TSA Pre Check . You Benefits/ID number can be entered as the known traveler number when booking reservations. Though the Official TSA Pre Check site says explicitly that you can not receive the benefits if you just walk to the Pre Check line with your ID in hand I do have friends who can affirm that they indeed were allowed to go through the line with just their card. I would however not recommend you taking this chance as it is m
